Brulee's babies have arrived !! not a big litter just hoping for one ivory or cream!! 1 Comment At last !!! My fav Cream doe is expecting !!! I have had my ivory and Cream rats for some time now and they have huge personalities as bred with my Cinnamon Pearls.. Please let me have a Ivory or cream buck please!!! Whatever they will be its been a long long wait!! Sadly Darkstar Muzzi the eldest Darkstar doe passed away this week. She was well over two years old and head rat. She loved and was loved by everybody she met. I miss her chewing to get my attention And the sofa where she would sit and watch T.V or sit on my lap is not the same without her. Only good thing is on the same week her half sister had a lovely litter with a Finnish back ground of Cham silver fawn and Agouti and what little porkers they are! I am keeping one so a little bit of Muzzi is still here. RIP Muzzi xxx I know not the most popular of rats but I do have a soft spot for the pink eyed varieties. Since looking after the Finnish chams that came over I have kept them ticking until last year when it looked like my last doe would never have kittens. I gave her one last shot and she had a couple of kittens. I kept a little rex buck and a doe. Well the little doe has had a litter and I was thrilled to see she has had chams and a huge surprise a little silver fawn rex ! Mum and grandmother are very close ... when mum has a break grandmother nips in and keeps her daughters babies warm and washes them all until Mum comes back. They really are loving does... I have decided to keep two as sadly two of my old girls died this week. Well they don't do it by halves my rats!! I often have 2 litters together incase something happens to a mother. Also I am just a fancier / pet owner who loves her rats and not some dreadful business!! Two of my does appeared to have reabsorbed .. low and behold I came home to a surprise of two litters that I assumed had be reabsorbed ... what a headache!!!!! I don't like to have many kittens at once so this will be an extra challenge. I spend a lot of time with the kittens to ensure they are happy and friendly and will make nice pets I hope. I keep what I need to run on my old lines and any that I can't use I then let go as pets. this time has been a mare as I did not get what I needed in my 2 litters so I now have to pet home them !!! eeek! I will be busy most evenings cuddling little babies and handling them ..... this is going to be a big job with the extra babies!!! I have been sent some fantastic photos of some of my babies in new home Well tried for another marked litter and they have arrived but didn't get what I needed to breed on however they will make fab pets :) I have been working on my Cinnamon Pearls and my old cream / ivory rats I have a few ivory does and a cream who are such great fun and live in the front room and are always up to no good so fingers crossed!! The lovely Golden Himmy doe I have from Halcyon stud has had a litter ! was a bit of a shock as she did not even show!! I presumed she was not ! She is so placid so the babies are likely to be sweet. I am just hoping not all agouti!!! Lost a few oldies this last 2 weeks which has been very sad but Granville was nearly 3 so not bad. We have 2 new pets Torch who was a pressie from Lisa and we paired him/her he's a mix! with Ratsmith a Darkstar agouti kitten who has huge bushbaby eyes! I have a marked litter arrived which is always exciting seeing what has what markings :) I have decided to continue working away with my Cinnamon Pearls / pearls which I have had for about 15 years now. But also years ago really enjoyed working on the Black eyed creams and Ivory rats. Funnily enough quite a few pop out of my Cinnamon Pearls and I have kept 3 does from last year. Also Pancake an ivory rex . Seeing as the ivory rats are well worked on I may work with the cream girls I have .. had t Oh dear the girls baby girls sadly got cancelled... Such a shame as they are such sweeties. I am always so pleased when people are really pleased with their little guys!! Its quite tough making sure they are socialized and we spend a lot of time with them. When you get fab owners who go on to speak Rat PR it makes it all worth while :) Well the new babies are growing!!! It has been a tough time as I have been struck down with ill health so juggling babies has been hard work :) I have some very cute little marked babies this time and am very happy that one is going to join his cousin and friends locally as I get lots of fabulous photos!! I will be sad to see this lot go as so cute and funny little fuzzy bundles of fun.. Mum however is sick of them!! But she comes out fo Well it was pretty quiet here maybe it was the cold winter but for a few months we had no babies! My first litter has gone to some fantastic homes sorry they did not even get advertised because I had a waiting list. Well looks like the sun is out and the rats are happy. I have just had a small but cute litter arrive from Moomi who is the last of my champagnes that come from the Finnish line I am so relieved!! this is the first outcross to my lines. A bit of an odd one but it had to be done. I had given up on Moomi after 8months!!! and was pretty upset as she was the last one left. So I popped her in with my really sweet young badger buck Paul. Well she has had a small litter but its a start! I am keeping a buck and maybe a doe. just so I can keep these guys going! I would like to thank Lisa and Ann for some fab new additions... I had run out of outcrosses as I only have a few rats now :( Now I have some new does and 2 very sweet agouti bucks. Ann's agouti doe Desmo has taken over the girls cage.. at a young age she is the boss... of everything!!! My girls just back right off... she is a firm fav of mine as she is such a madam .. but in a nice way .. and thanks Desmo for eating the sofa!! Hopefully soon I will have a marked litter varis maybe ! Also some more Cinnamon pearl carriers .. I am concentrating on my usual stuff being Cinnamon Pearls , pearls in rex and smooth and with these I get Agouti mink and cinnamon. Now another surprise ..... my old Ivorys suddenly appeared and keep popping out this is great ! Also a cream :) I will be breeding these as it made me nostalgic .. I worked with the second generation that came from the original creams .. These lot have appeared after a gap of 5 years! maybe 6 ! .. I may concentrate on the creams because they just don't seem to be about ! My girls are very sweet and excellent tempered ! I will also make sure I keep the site updated even though its killing my hands t |
