Welcome to the website for Darkstar Stud.

I have 24 years of living with and breeding these wonderful animals.

My aim has always been to promote the Fancy Rat as a pet.
I also show and am an NFRS championship Judge of which I am very proud of.

What is a Stud? What's the difference between a Stud and a Rattery?
A Stud is awarded to a breeder who has bred a champion animal.

Sometimes this can take years of hard work.
I am very proud of this.


Please feel free to read the story of how this all began and why 24 years later I still share my home with my Fancy Rats.

I am not a commercial breeder. 
We love our rats they are like family to us.
Darkstar Stud is a small "family" set up usually of 15 rats.
This is because I now have a busy work day and other commitments but it allows me to give all my guys the attention they need daily. 

Darkstar Rats are all over the place and people come from far and wide or have been coming back to me for years .
As far as Sweden , Belgium and Finland.
In the UK Wales , Scotland , London , Cornwall and many more places.
My oldest lines are Rex and Pearl varieties, but we often have some Berkshires in various colours.
